Challenge For Congress - Sycophancy

During days when kings , nawabs , sultans used to rule India , they use to have state kavis. Many of so called kavis use to invest their talent in writing poems on their kings , nawabs , sultans. By doing so they use to get inaams .

The trend can be seen all across the globe and chamchagiri or sycophancy seems to be trait which has helped careers of many and it seems to be timeless trait!!!!!!!!!!!

World has changed a lot in last few hundred years. Today governance too has changed. We have democracy in most parts of world. The communist still hold ground in countries like china , north korea . Kinghood still holds ground in muslim countries like saudi arabia. But lately saudi too has seen more people centric governance system. Voices of change , democracy were heard in various parts in 2011. People are getting more aware about their right as human being and in all possibility governance would see more people centric systems where rule of law would have people’s view incorporated in it in future.

In such times one thing seems not to change and it is art of chamchagiri or sycophancy. Indian National Congress is oldest party of India and is chief party which contributed most in India’s struggle of Independence.

The party was unique in a sense. It had people from all walks of life , all caste , all community , all faiths. Be it be parsi or hindu or muslim or sikh , you name it and congress had people from that faith. Congress had people from dalits , people from brahmin , people from south , people from north. In era where woman was considered to be responsible only for household activities , congress had women too in it. Congress truly represented India .

After Independence Nehru began prime minister and unfortunately for Nehru ,Congress and India , most of top most leaders like mahatma , sardar patel , didnt live much and with death of maulana azad , nehru lost close guide,friend .

But most unfortunate thing for India was death of lal bhadur shashtri. The event gave India a very powerful prime minister called Indira gandhi but at same time the event laid foundation to new dynasty of India that is nehru clan.

Insecure Indira had group of selected few whom she did trust . Nick named as kitchen cabinet , they had strong say in governance too.  Indira’s rule saw corruption rise . When we seen today people coming on streets to say corruption down down , many dont know that similar banners made their way to streets during 70s too when Indira ruled.

Congress from being party of all voices soon became party with main trait as being loyal to one person and family. Culture of sycophancy entered the great party called congress and today in 2012 the above ad given by some congress man shows how deep rooted the culture of chamchagiri had become.

Challenge for congress if at all it wants to go back to glorious congress ,then challenge would be how it can bring people on merit who can stand upright and whose survival in party in not based on loyalty to one family but on what he/she brings on board.

Challenge for congress would be how they bring in actual representation of people of India . Rahul Gandhi claims to be working for it with youth congress but as long as top seats are reserved for one family , I am not sure how this would work?.

Sonia Gandhi , the chair person of upa and president of congress party yesterday had defense minister of India , Mr antony read out speech in uttrakhand. Sonia was supposed to address a rally but due to her ill health , she could not attend the event but made sure that supporters to get to know her thoughts.

In speech which A K Antony read Sonia said that corruption cannot be fought by speeches. This statement was made headlines by most news media. Now was she talking about l k advani’s yatra or anna is something which only Sonia Gandhi can explain but as per media she was addressing anna hazare and his team in her speech. She also said that her party and prime minister were committed to have strong lok pal bill . She also said that it was They who brought RTI law.
Now UPA can definitely take credit for Right of Information Act but act was never product of any political party. It was product of long led campaign which started as early as 1990 with Mazdoor Kisan Shakti Sangathan which began its movement to have transparent village accounts.

First draft came in 1993 which was prepared by Consumer Education and Research Council (AHMEDABAD). MKSS’s advocacy gave rise to the National Campaign on People’s Right to Information (NCPRI), which was formed to advocate for the right to information at the national level. In 1997 the process fastened and A working group under the chairmanship of Mr. H D Shourie (the Shourie Committee) was set up by the Central Government and given the mandate to prepare draft legislation on freedom of information. The Shourie Committee’s Report and draft law were published in 1997. The Shourie Committee draft law passed through two successive governments, but was never introduced in Parliament. In 1999 NDA minister Mr Ram Jethmalani, then Union Minister for Urban Development, issued an administrative order enabling citizens to inspect and receive photocopies of files. Shourie Committee draft law was reworked into the Freedom of Information Bill 2000. It was passed in December 2002 and received Presidential asset on January 2003, as the Freedom of Information Act 2002. Now freedom of Information Act was amended and what became was Right of Information Act….

So it was long long movement began by civil society , ngos before upa made it law , so logically politicians played last role . Obviously aruna roy or arvind kerjiwal cannot pass the law , it has to be passed by parliament and UPA did that for which they deserve credit  but more credit goes to aruna roy and hundreds of people who made took up the cause of transparency in governance..

Coming back to statement of Sonia Gandhi that corruption cannot be removed by speeches. She is absolutely right but anna hazare didn’t simply made speeches . He enrolled nation into it. He pitched for strong lok pal bill and made country express their support for it. He did more than what our politicians could do since jayprakash narayan and that is uniting people for single cause. That is far more than giving speeches.

Also yes speeches don’t fight corruption but neither do cosmetic changes. I am not against congress or pro bjp . I have difference on congress and dislike dynasties at same time I dislike many things in BJP too but I am for strongest possible law against corruption and not cosmetic ones.

As nation is fed up by most corrupted government in recent times , it is obvious that to win next election , congress would come up with something that is called lok pal bill but would it be cosmetic like what happened after 26/11?… After 26/11 seeing immense public outrage , upa-1 made shiv raj patil to resign , deshmukh to resign and r r patil to resign..Deshmukh is cabinet minister right now , r r patil is back to same post while shivraj patil is governor..This is called cosmetic changes.

We need strong lok pal bill which would be one of way of fighting corruption and we should not rest till we achieve that.

Lastly I would like to tell Mrs Sonia Gandhi that we get that speeches alone can’t root out corruption but in same lines , neither cosmetic changes can. I hope we get strongest lok pal bill in winter session…

Indian National Congress is 126 year old party making it oldest party in the country. Founded in 1885 , it served as forum for Indians from all walks of life,different regions , different caste , different faiths to get together . Initially demand was more share in government (british India) for educated native Indians.

The party had people like Bal Gangadhar Tilak; Bipin Chandra Pal; Lala Lajpat Rai; Gopal Krishna Gokhale; and Mohammed Ali Jinnah in it. Gopal Krishna Gokhale can be said as person who influenced mahatma to take all India tour to understand India better…

With changing times , demand of congress slowly moved from more participation of Indians in the government to complete freedom. Congress of India had representative from every caste,creed and faith. It represented India in too sense and it has been largely inclusive.

Congress was not formed by singular family and neither was ever owned by single family till Indira Gandhi became sarve sarva of congress. Congress had leftist in it , they had secularist in it , they had conservative in it, they had right wing in it , they have liberals in it.

Congress was among first parties to have woman representatives in it. Considering social system of that era , it was indeed big achievement. Congress had muslims in it. That too muslims who ran movements in absence of mahatama. Maulana Azad was one of important leaders of congress who views matter to party and helped shape in their strategies and policies.

Contribution of congress is often ignored by right wings and leftist. But congress was one of its kind and in true sense it represented entire subcontinent. Mahatma gandhi was phenomena and his influence on party , country and world is still relevant. Mahatma’s quest for all inclusive ideology still reflects in true congress workers.

Nehru followed socialist path but he too had to bow down to party’s views in number of times. Being popular prime minister , he too could not have his way always.

Unfortunately congress changed during Indira Gandhi era. She crushed competition in congress and made it more and more dependent on herself and her choosen ones. Corruption too increased many fold in her era and unfortunately daughter of Institution man like nehru who was strictly against dynasties , made her won dynasty in form of gandhi-nehru family.

Since 70s , the great party lost its fundamental value and that is being a platform where people from all walks of life can enter and even reach to position to form policies. Fundamental value where talent would be given preference over whose daughter or son you are. Fundamental value that people can differ in views but as long as they love their country they can be part of congress.

Values like social service , integrity , nation love , passion to serve country got replaced with loyalty to individual and family. These factors gave birth to many regional parties and weakening of congress.

Today Congress is nothing more than a party which is owned by single family and they have managed to win elections because of past karmas of greats like mahatma , maulana , tilak , gokhale, sardar , nehru. It is the system which had made congress reach to all corners of India , which had helped them remain present in every state of the country and assist them in winning elections.

But the GREAT INDIAN NATIONAL CONGRESS has got converted into family owned enterprise where one’s rise is directly proportional to ability to serve single family’s purpose. Dr Manmohan Singh could become prime minister because he was not threat to power of sonia gandhi . Pranab da was and so could not become prime minister of India.

Personally I have no problem with sonia gandhi or rahul gandhi. Both are doing what they know and sonia is influential personality with tight grip on her party. But I am strongly against dynasty politics of congress which has directly/indirectly made other parties turn into dynasty parties themselves.

Be it be rising son in samajwadi party of mulayam singh yadav or be it be DMK or be it be shiv sena or be it be Biju Janta Dal … Our Parliament is slowly moving towards being family owned entity with more and more sons/daughters/nephews entering parliament . This is bigger threat than terrorism for India because we would have situation in future where 500 families might control us.

Left and Bjp are only two parties which doesnot have family owned system. Both have had their limitations which have hindered their growth. BJP has changed its views for minorities and is becoming more inclusive but to reach to level where it can gain majority on its own , it has long route to travel. Left on other hand is living in 19th century and needs major ideological shift to remain relevant.

Because of Left and BJP’s limitation , congress gets free run and nehru-gandhi clan remains in business. Congress’s funda that since they win elections , congress is well leaves little room for improvement . Congress needs major over haul to curb corruption , chamchagiri and opportunism.

For me Rahul gandhi becoming prime minister would be sad thing to happen to India. Rahul gandhi instead can revive lost greatness of congress by working for bringing people from all walks of life into congress and removing congress from clutches of his family. By that way he would be serving India more than by sitting in post which he had not earned but would be given as dynasty rule.

Unless that happens congress would be party which fell from its own greatness and became something which its founding fathers never dreamt of.

JDU is one of key ally of BJP and part of National Democratic Alliance (NDA).Janta Dal United (JDU) categorically said that they would oppose narendra modi’s bid of becoming prime minister of INDIA, if BJP comes up with his name as candidate in 2014 elections.

We are currently in year 2011 and 2014 elections are still at least 2.5 years to go. In two and half years lot of things can change. May be Narendra Modi would get charge sheeted in the court or may be he would go scot free. May be he would be able to win trust of muslims of gujarat , particularly.Let us look at three stats which might give some cue

1)There were around 20,000 muslims who visited modi’s sadbhavna fast venue.

2)There have been 11% muslims who purchased BMW last yeat according to BMW dealer of gujarat.

3) Narendra Modi gave 100 muslims tickets in nagar palika elections last year…

But does that mean he would have home run?. Obviously not , trial is still on and all propoganda of clean chit is myth. Supreme court has just followed procedure and allowed trial court to proceed with the case .

Now coming to Janta Dal United’s stand of not supporting Narendra Modi ,as prime minister candidate , well in India tradionally Prime Minister Of India , depends more on luck than any other factor. People’s support is least factor affecting the decision of who would become prime minister.

Unlike United States Of America , we dont have direct election for most powerful post. We elect party which in turn elects who would become prime minister of India. Since last 15 years , we dont even elected government. We elect parties , who is turn form alliance and then largest party selects who would become prime minister of India and based on allies’s confidence , he/she becomes prime minister of India!!!!!!!!!!

What is percentage of votes which congress got?. Only 11 crores and it is largest party of united progressive alliance (UPA-2). Now how was UPA-1 formed?. Parties who claim to have similar ideology got together to form alliance which ensured that they have sufficient seats to claim formation of government. Sonia Gandhi being Italian by birth and Indian by marriage faced resistance. She gave up post of prime minister but selected her own trusted man , Dr manmohan singh as prime minister. It is more matter of convenience than anything else.

If we look at history , when congress had crisis after death of lal bhadhur shashtri , it was convenience of congress which led to elevation of INDIRA GANDHI as prime minister of India. She went on to become most powerful prime minister of India till date but context of selecting her was more about convenience than about anything else at that point of time.

Rajiv gandhi got the post of prime minister because of unexpected demise of Indira Gandhi who was assisinated by her own guards. Death of Rajiv Gandhi by LTTE bomb attack , made narshima Rao as prime minister.

Now we have Dr Manmohan Singh who has clean image , who brought India to International Road Map by globalization but truth is that it was his sheer luck that SONIA GANDHI could not become prime minister because of her origins. Otherwise he would have remained as finance minister .

If we look at ifs and buts , consider the following :

a) If sardar would have declined mahatma’s request and asserted his claim based on congress’s units support?
b) If shashtri wont have died?. According to Ram Guha , Indira was all set to get settled in England but sudden death of shahstri made her change plans.
c) If Indira would have survived?
d) If Rajiv Wont have died?
e) If Sonia Would still taken up post of Prime Minister Of India?

Whether NARENDRA DAMODHAR MODI Would ever get top most post is matter of convenience of alliance and his luck. Who knows how things would be two and half years down the line. Yes according to me NDA’s best bet would be NITISH KUMAR and not modi but only time would tell what are chances of a)NDA in 2014 and b) Modi’s chance of becoming prime minister of India.

If we really want prime ministership to be purely and solely people’s choice , we must have direct election for post of prime ministers, till then it would be convenience and luck factor than any thing else.

Amar Singh …Naam to suna hoga?. From business man to politicians, amar singh five years back was everywhere. Whether it was some bollywood award function or taking trip with baade bhaiya big b to religious place or being with anil dhiru bhai ambani on trip together, amar singh was like man who knew everyone who is anyone is corporate world , in political world and in entertainment world.

Today the man is in tihar jail on charges of being key conspirator in cash for votes scam. BJP mps flashed cash in parliament way back in 2008 when upa-1 went for confidence motion. LEFT had pulled the plug leaving upa-1 looking for support from other quarters.

Soon amar singh chipped in and upa-1 managed to get the votes that they needed. BJP accused them of trying to buy their MPs and CNN-IBN was involved in sting operation.

Maamla seemed to have gone rafa dafa with UPA winning elections again (trust our voters to choose corrupted government and make them graduated into most corrupted government ever) . But did voters have any better alternatives. Answer is probably no.

Coming back to point maamla came back from cold storage and finally amar singh was arrested and put into tihar jail. Once right hand man of mulayam singh yadav , amar is no more in samajwadi party and member of famous standing committee who would see lok pal bill , is now in jail. Ironically standing committee has chara prasad yadav too in it!!!!

Jayaprada went to tihar jail to meet amar singh . She said that if amar opens his mouth , many people would get into trouble. It is but obvious that amar singh was not saving himself or mulayam singh yadav when he tried to buy votes of BJP Mps by bribing them. Whom was he saving?. Obviously UPA-1. Now in blunt language , amar singh was acting mere as agent for upa-1 . So if agent has gone to jail what about people who got benefited from the whole exercise?. Why there is no inquiry on upa-1 and prime minister of India as well as sonia gandhi? .Why nobody has  tried to find out whether they too we some way or another involved in the scam?

Secondly why is amar singh silent?. What was the deal between amar singh and congress ?. What amar singh acting from ‘work now and get benefit later’ mode or was he working for samajwadi party who had striked some deal with upa-1?. Has this anything to do with CBI inquiry on mulayam singh yadav?. There are many ifs and buts , this and thats, aisa bhi ,vaisa bhi in the whole ‘cash for vote’ scam.

We can know that only if amar singh opens his mouth but for that he would have to plead guilty and right now he is claiming to be innocent. There was an madukar bhandarkar’s movie called corporate. Amar singh seems to be bipasha basu in the whole scam but what about KKs , Rajivs and Rajs?. UPA-1 was saved and people voted them back which is reality but there is some unknown reality too out here. Would we ever come to know?. Only time can tell. As of now Mr Amar singh is paying price for his own doing and he seems to be all alone fighting his own battle which he might end up losing.

I received an sms today . The message said that shrimati sonia gandhi is not so educated , she worked as waitress . It also claimed that rahul gandhi has dual passport!!!!!!!!.

Now what has sonia gandhi being less educated or worked as waitress to do with current mood in the country?. Sonia did to waitress job when she was in college to take care of her expense and what is wrong in that. Infact that should make sonia and her followers proud of that she worked to make her meet her expense. We have so many politicians who have their sons and daughters in foreign but they dont need to work to meet their expense!!!!!!!

Why I am writing this post?. Am I congress supporter?. Well I am neither congress supporter nor BJP supporter. I am supporter of policies on its quality basis rather than who forms it or who brings it.

I personally oppose nehru-gandhi dynasty as principal . I am strong opposer of clan based politics. But at same time I can’t simply reject sonia gandhi. She has been congress chief and had won two back to back elections to her credit. Whether any one likes it or not it still remains a fact.

Yes I do blame congress for what ever situation country is and at same time they do get credit for contribution in bringing country to where it is. They have been in power for most of time and so they get blame as well as credit for many things.

Anna hazare movement has not only taken nation by storm but it has also made us sit and take notice. It has pressurized government to bring a bill which governments since last 40 + years have avoided bringing.

It has made people debate about corruption and it has shown all political parties about how frustrated people are with corruption. It is demand of nation to have strong anti corruption bill. People may disagree with anna’s version but majority agree that corruption is big big issue which needs to dealt with.

Whether we agree with anna or not , whether we like his way or not , whether we agree with his version of bill or not , we must give credit to this man for bringing people from various walks of life together and bringing corruption to national debate .

But anna movement is not anti sonia gandhi movement . It is not anti rahul gandhi movement. Let us not misunderstand the movement. Movement was , is for strong anti corruption bill call ‘jan lok pal bill’. For those who are unaware , anna hazare had fasted in 1996 for 15 days against ministers of bjp-shiv sena government.

Dont give shades to the movement. It is not sonia hatao or rahul hatao or dr manmohan singh hatao movement. It is war against corruption by india against corruption.

95% of India are with us-narayanswami ..People showed their will in 2004 and 2009.

Minister of state parliamentary affairs made the above tall claims when he was on  cnn-ibn’s India at 9 program. Why he made those statement. Was he arrogant?. Was he being ostrich , unable to see the mood of people of India?. Obviously by 95 percent he meant those who vote and that figure too was wrong.

If we go by survey done by cnn-ibn and headlines today respectively , we can see that both channels showed that image of upa has taken beating because of one scam after another coming in light. But inspite of major beating of image , upa still remains alliance where one can put its money in for winning elections in 2014. Why?

Inspite of ruling party giving major opportunities to bjp and left , both have not been able to get political advantage out of it. The issue of corruption is one of those things which unites India. Whether one lives in village or city. Whether one is elite urban class or working as worker , whether one is sitting in top most post of corporate or person starting his career, whether one is fasting in holy ramzan or holy shiv ratri , whether one is housewife or working woman , whether one is living in India or leaving India. CORRUPTION is something which impacts,effects and makes people get personally involved. Yet no political party has been able to create mass backing in their leading.

The vaccum caused because of this has been rightly filled by civil society led by anna hazare. Anna’s movement has been attacked by government using various means . Few are example of that-

a) Anna Hazare is RSS Man

This is one of statements meant to make liberals,seculars and muslims turn away from anna’s movement. Honestly I dont get this argument. Even if anna is RSS Man , does that mean movement against corruption becomes invalid????????. By the way Anna knows that in nation which gets easily divided in allah-ram name , remaing apolitical and not involving entity which can divide movement is the key. He has so far made sure that movement remains apolitical

b) Anna Himself is corrupted

The famous statement made by manish tewari which could not convince even few congress guys forget the nation. A man who has dedicated his 48 years for society , the man who has had track record of being upright , the man who has practically transformed his village , the man who led movements against state ministers is accused by congress who had had three prime ministers accused of corruption themselves. One was found guilty by high court which led to emergency, another got accused in bofors though was cleared and third one(narshima rao) was accued of buying votes . Even dr manmohan singh had cash for votes accusation. Inquiry is still on. Now party which such track record accuses some one who has great track record. Doesn’t make sense. Isn’t it?

c) Where is money coming from?

Valid point. Anna’s team has been campaigning day in day out. Their one of most powerful and effective medium has been internet. Facebook updates , ads , google ads,yahoo ads . Then travelling all over India takes money to do that. But is money any question when there is some one who takes a stand?. I work for an ngo voluntarily. My job is to maintain their website and every year I update their account statement. This NGO gets around 2 crore donation every year. Anna’s movement has caputred imagination of the nation and money wont be any issue. What I would like to ask congress and very specifically kapil sibal is that where does congress get money from?. Their maharastra chief was caught on camera discussing money for congress’s rally. So we have some idea about where they get money from..Secondly there are lot of donations made to congress and for that matter all political parties. When money is not problem for political parties , how can it be problem for social activists?

d) Anna’s Movement Is USA Backed!!!!!!

Ha ha..is mein videshi taqat ka haath hai. Good if videshi taqat is interested in getting India corrupt free but that would hinder their interest too. Every foreign country is interested in spying other country and one of modes used in that is bribing people who have internal knowledge , so why would any country try to stop that avenue?.

Inspite of efforts by congress to stop anna , they could not stop him. Last resort was arresting him , which they did but that move back fired instead. Now anna hazare is brand and kapil sibal , chidambaram and manish tewari …

But anna’s movement is simply one step is over all context. Vaccum would still remain when elections of 2014 comes. That vaccum can be filled by BJP ,only when it sets its house in order and become more inclusive. Currently congress , bjp seems bhai bhai , when we have ashok chauhan in maharasthra we have had yeddurappa in karnataka. While we had kanimozhi,raja in upa camp , we have had reddy brothers in karnataka. While we had congress maharashtra chief talking money in camera, we have had bangaru laxman accepting money caught on camera!!!!!!!!!.

What we need is not match between congress and bjp but another alternative and NO that alternative is not third front. We need brand new party with upright people coming together . Why can’t we have a p j abdul kalam,aruna ,kiran bedi,anna,arvind kerjiwal,narayan murthy is politics?. That would be much better than people we have right now is various camps in parliament.

We need alternative of upa and that alternative should be actual alternative , not just talking differently but in practise and in real time….This is my views on entire scenario but I invite people to chip in with their point of views.

UPA-2 celebrated its two year completion in office!!!!!!!. Governance these days has become more like bollywood movie. It has success parties too early , these days!!!!!!!!. Never mind , upa-2 has completed two years successfully . Now what it there to celebrate?. Kalmadis or Rajas?. Price rise in food articles or Price rise in petrol?. Well I understand that UPA-2 has been not so great perfomer as compared to UPA-1  but tike raaho too calls for celebrations these days.

As UPA-2 completed 2 years , it was time for some speeches too. UPA Chair person Mrs Sonia Gandhi took on BJP and what was the point for which she attacked BJP?. Socho socho kutch to socho , bolo bolo , kutch to bolo. Well if you can’t guess dont bother to because none can guess that. Well it was on corruption!!!!!!!!!!. So government which had mother of all scams question opposition on corruption. It has been hundreds of years when slogan ulta chor kotval ko daate , now it is time for new slogan , chor cho ko daate!!!!!!!!.

UPA-2 has one man whom then consider saviour and no his name is not rajiv gandhi. His name is yeddy. When so ever congress feels heat on corruption , they call yeddy’s name much like believer of hanuman chants hanuman’s name. Kaun nahi jaanat hai jag mein , Yeddy naam tihaaro!!!!!.

I perfectly agree that morally wrong (as per BJP chief) yeddy must have long gone from his post but he didn’t go and when Rajas and Kalmadis were on making money spree , UPA-2 had yeddy to compare Raja and Kalmadi with.

So why corruption is so difficult to be curbed in India?. Why our dear gandhis and advanis need press pressure to make sure alleged person resigns. Why upright people like Dr Manmohan singh act like ‘bura mat dekho , bura mat suno’ types when corrupted ones make wealth using people’s money?.

In India today’s conclave , Mr Praful Patel had used term called relative Integrity!!!!!!!!. Unfortunately our politicians have reached as phase when integrity too has become comparative and not absolute. But can just this politicians be blamed?.

When a person pays to school to get admission of kid , what is it called?. When some one breaks rule like wearing helmet and gets away paying 100 Rs , what is it called?. Corruption has become part of our day to day life and we seem to be ok with it. So how can we blame politicians , who come from our own society for corruption?.

If we look at list of MPs And MLAs , majority of them dont have much of clean image and if dr manmohan singh or any upright person wants to go hard at them , it would be difficult for Dr Manmohan Singh to stay in power!!!!!!!. Unfortunate but that is how things look like.

If we want corrupt free India  , we must elect people with high standard of morality , other wise we would keep having Rajas with different names!!!!!!!. Often question is asked about whom to vote , when all seems to be on same boat. Well legitimate question but answer to this is vote for options called ‘I dont want to vote for any’ . Soon political parties would have to bow down to people’s sentiment if we keep doing that.

But for that to happen but we need to introspect ourselves. Are we ourselves ready to give away our convinence and needs to go for corrupt free way?.

As soon as world cup ended , anna hazare began his fast. He timed his campaign well , considering how much we love cricket. We can forget to go to work for cricket and corruption which is number one problem for India since years wont have made people sit and notice if we had world cup on air. Cricket works for us to forget everything and anything and it is one of few things which unites us and brings cheer and joy to us.

Anna has worked with people since last 40 years. He knows that we love our country but he also knows that cricket is religion in our country.

With perfect timing , well intended mission and passion for corrupt free India , anna set on fast. National media did good job by bringing his campaign to our drawing rooms and nation seemed awake.

Anna accused sharad pawar soon and NCP questioned character of anna hazare himself. That was first attempt by our politicians to derail the campaign. It failed and anna’s quest continued.

Politicians from opposition parties saw opportunity in anna’s campaign and then they attempted to ride over popular wave of anna but anna and his advisers did good job by keeping movement away from politicians. Attempt to get political mileage too failed.

Government soon realized that anna wave might sweep the country and negatively impact their parties performance in state elections. They conceded anna’s demand .

Media declared victory of anna but the battle had just begun. The simple , gandhian anna expressed his opinion on narendra damodhar modi and soon media highlighted it. Politicians saw opportunity once again to strengthen their vote bank and divide civil society. Congress saw red and so did NCP. They went on to declare that ‘No secular person can praise narendra modi’ . If we go by that rule anil ambani , sunil mittal , ratan tata, chetan bhagat, amitabh bachchan among many others become non secular since they had praised modi at one or other place ..

Anna never justified gujarat 2002 riots , he simply talked in context of rural development. Anna who has worked since 40 years for all communities can never be questioned for his secularism but politicians did just that.

Media did attain success in get business out of this breaking new and it did divide the India Against Corruption Movement Initiators. Mallika Sarabhai and Megha Patkar saw red in anna’s comment. The damage was done but soon anna tried to rectify it by his press release and letter to sarabhai.

Narendra Modi on other hand saw this as opportunity to slam those who oppose him. To be fair with Modi , he has made valid point. If modi’s praise brings so many back lash they how can congress keep jagdish , hkl bhagat and even praise rajeev gandhi for his insensitive comments during sikh riots. We can’t have two different yard sticks based on vote bank policies.

I am clear about this. Nail modi for gujarat riots ,if he is found guilty but praising him where he deserves too is part of being fair. Dont mix two different issues.

Coming to Narendra modi’s letter , it looked more to be written for slamming critics than appreciating anna. Narendra modi tried to get most of anna wave by his open letter..

After partially becoming successful in dividing the civil society , then came attempt by amar singh by bringing cd to create doubts for Shanti Bhushan.

Anna wrote letter to sonia gandhi which narrated all his concerns regarding attempts by various politicians to defame the civil society who stood against corruption.

Mean while a group of lawyers have filed PIL against joint committee calling it to be illegal and defying constitution which gives power only to parliament members to be part of any committee which drafts laws.

If nation which rallied behind anna thought battle was won , well it has just completed first round. The war against corruption would be won only when we as country win one after another battle. Last one week has given us idea about how many fronts have got opened by anna’s fast. The strong ,powerful and rich lobby who have made money out of corruption wont give up so easily.

As country we would need to be intentional and make sure that ‘war against corruption’ is won . This is not anna’s movement . This is movement for our love for country, our coming generation , our desire for corrupt free India.War Against Corruption Needs To Be Fought On Various Fronts and it wont be won unless you and me too participate in it.

India v/s Pakistan , a dream come true match for ICC. The match which everyone who makes money out of cricket would be looking for. From broadcasters to ICC to even bookies. It seems their collective prayers have worked. For cricket fans , nothing could bring so much thrill than India ,Pakistan match that too in world cup and that too in semifinals!!!!!!!!!!!!…It is win-win situation for lovers of cricket , administrators and every one who are directly,indirectly linked to cricket.

As match between India and Pakistan would begin tomorrow, whose who from India and Political biggies of Pakistan would be all set to view the match. Mohali would be most happening place tomorrow as everyone who is anyone is heading towards mohali.

1) Dr Manmohan Singh :

Beat this. Can it get bigger than that. The prime minister of India , himself taking time out to view the high octane match. He any how needed break from all the scams , aggressive opposition and his tag line ‘I dont know’ . As far as match outcome goes , he seriously doesnot know what it would be . Much needed break , well deserved?. Well according to congress yes…very well deserved but according to people who had admired him for his integrity , well…no comments.

2) Sonia Gandhi :

Though not confirmed , media is making rounds of her presence in the stadium. Well if that happens it would be rare public appearance. Only time we see sonia gandhi among so many people is during republic day parade or during her rallies.

3) Rahul , Priyanka and her husband Robert:

Rahul was seen cheering srk’s team during IPL-1 and would he he along with his sister and brother in law does attend tomorrow’s match? , well media reports do state so but it is too be seen

4) Dharmendra, sunny deol , booby deol , esha deol,ahana deol :

The original he-man would be watching the match with his sons and for a change daughters too. It would be first appearance of such kinds where sunny ,bobby,esha,ahana would be seen together

5) Akshay Kumar :

The khiladi kumar would be seen cheering team India tomorrow. He was invited by police deputy chief of punjab

6) Aamir Khan :

The mr perfectionist loves cricket and he is huge fan of sachin ramesh tendulkar. He too would be seen watching from the stadium.

7) Deepika Padukone and Siddharth Mallya :

Deepika padukone would be seen with her friend (according to her and not me) , Siddharth Mallya

Katrina Kaif :

The bollywood superstar would be seen watching the match , along with khiladi kumar?. Well let us see.

9) Shushant singh Rajput :

The super star of television is all set to be part of audience cheering team India.

Rehman Malik , the most famous man of Pakistan and interior minister of the same would also be viewing the match live in mohali.

As it is raining biggies in mohali , the match has now not only about skills of bat and ball. It is more now about who handles pressure better. It is 80% mental game from now onwards. If above whose who wont have been attending the match , I would have given 70% chance of winning to India. But with kind of hype media has created and with all those pressures which these politicians , celebs ,industrialist would bring with their presence , which is in addition to pressures from the billion fans , I would give India chance of 60%. If India helds its nerves , it should win the match.

Coming to Pakistan , they are extremely talented team and if they play as unit they can beat anyone in the world. I hope it does not happen tomorrow.

Lastly it should be victory of cricket . As there is lot of good will gestures among leadership of both countries since last week , there us take this forward . Isn’t it?

Tomorrow by 10.30-10.45 pm , it would be clear as to who would make it into finals. My prediction is tight match with result in favor of India .Wishing team India all the very best. In end real stars are they who would play . Isn’t it?
