It was late night of 26/11/2008 when I was glued to cricket match between India and England.India was playing exceptionally well in that season and england was expected to face white wash in the series. As I went home yesterday and switched on news channel , some or other news channel was showing the news of pervez musharraf’s interview to german magazine. The above three are examples of headlines which were flashed on various news channel. It looked as if India never knew what pervez was talking about. Call it plain irony . Pakistan faced worst floods since last 80 years and one of worst crisis since its independence. What geography could not do , what common history could not do , what similar culture could not do ,nature did. India humbly requested pakistan to accept aid from it which pakistan rightly did. The most unpopular country in pakistan ,that is USA was first to reach pakistan for assistance through nwfp border and usa collected around $200 million aid for pakistan. Yesterday was grand debate session in news channels. Grand because all had it . Topic was one of favorite topics , India -Pakistan talks. While Indian channels were angry over qureshi’s statement about s.m.krishna , there were many different options about why pakistan did what it did during talks , how press conference could have been handled in better way , what pakistan wants (according to individuals participating in debate). Ishrat Jahan Shamim Raza : Was She Lashkar Operative or Victim of Police?
Image via Wikipedia Ishrat Jahan Shamim Raza’s name is back in news. The 19 year old teen who was killed by gujarat police on 15 June 2004 created huge controversy. Gujarat police claimed that Ishrat jahan shamin raza was Lashkar-e-Toiba operative who had entered in gujarat along with three of her fellow operatives to kill Narendra Modi. According to gujarat police , they chased down blue Indica car which had these four operatives and killed them in encounter while judicial probe found that all four killed (Including ishrat) were murdered cold blooded in police custody. Report also said that Ishrat and other three were kidnapped from mumbai brought to ahmedabad and killed by police.
