Killing For So Called Honor

Another honor killing has occured. This time it has been in punjab where a 25 year old girl was killed by her own family with swords. Her crime?. She married with a man against wishes of her family. She seems to be trapped by her family who might have wooed her to come to their house along with her husband and her mother in law. While lady got killed by sword , her mother in law too was killed while her husband sustained injury from bullet fired at him. The cases of honor killing are on rise in India . When so ever there is discussion about India , we almost always bring our sanskars . We are proud of them , aren’t we?. Sacrifice for family , family bonds , parental care , child upbringing , wife’s devotion for husband are few of the points which we feel proud of. In our social system when a man marries to a lady , we consider it to be bond for seven generation. Couple marry , bring child in the world.
