I hate to post this. It is second day of brand new year and posting something like this is depressing in its own way. But I have to post this because this too happened in rising ,shining ,marching India.

2011 was forgetful year in itself. Barring Anna’s movement which showed that people rise to occasion to make their anger felt to insensitive politicians , there was little to be excited about other than MSD and Indian team’s world cup victory.

Come 2012 , news which grabbed my attention was shocking news of 7 year old kid (girl) killed by two men and her liver offered as sacrificial gesture to god for better harvest. How stupid, horrifying , ignorant things can be…

The incident is from Chhattisgarh’s tribal belt which has strong presence of Maoist too. The incident ironically happened on sunday that is 1st Jan 2012!!!!!!!!!!

Both men have been arrested but this kinds of incident do question about have we really  moved forward?. In country with 120 crore plus people , I completely understand that there is huge challenge for government to educate , to give jobs , to have proper medical care , to have proper awareness among each and every citizen but if 64 years where not enough , then how many would be enough?

This is not just one off incident. I was watching crime patrol on sony television which had similar kind of incident in which step mother sacrifices her step son . Some foolish so called tantrik had advised her that if she does get her step son killed , god would bless her with son from her own womb.

It is true that India has thriving middle class. It is true that Indian companies are now acquiring foreign firms and are having multinational presence. it is true that economy inspite of slow down if growing. It is true that Indian human force is well respected in the world but at same time the news of kind which I posted today is also truth. The truth that we still have long long way to go. The truth that building sky scrapers or metros or even going to the moon doesnot mean that we have progressed until it thoughts of sections of society evolve to level of humaness…

I feel sorry for the girl. Real sorry…

11 Years of fight for justice. 11 years which saw jessica’s family pitched against rich and powerful. Witness turning hostile ,trial court acquitting the accused including manu sharma , highcourt finding him guilty and now finally supreme court uphelding highcourt’s judgement.

Jessica lal murder case is case study of how a normal citizen can finding hard to get justice against powerful people . Jessica lal muder case is also case study of how our judiciary system still delivers inspite of loopholes in the system. Jessica lal murder case is also case study of power of media and normal citizens. Above all jessica lal murder case is case study of how determined family can keep in fighting for justice and keep hope alive for all other Indian citizens in our legal citizen.

Announcing the verdict , “The Delhi High Court has given cogent and adequate reasons for reversal of acquittal given by the trial court,” the bench said. “The presence of accused is proved by ocular evidence of prosecution witnesses.”

Jessica’s sister Sabrina Lal welcomed the Supreme Court’s verdict. “It’s not impossible to nab the culprits. We should not lose faith in judiciary. I would like to thank god, my family and media for this justice,” she said.

Jessica Lal’s soul might be able to finally rest in peace.

A man(uncle) rapes a minor. She approaches panchayat for justice. Panchayat finds accused man gulity of raping the minor  and they decide not to report to police but themselves punish the man.

What is punishment given to the man?. Well he is slapped five time with shoes of face!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes you heard it right. 5 slaps for raping a woman.

When minor’s mother approached police , police registered the case and arrested the man.

This is not first time such a bizaare judgement was passed by panchayat. Few months back a couple of seven years were asked to live as brother and sisters since both belonged to same clan!!!!!!!!.

They have a child whose custody was given to mother and child’s father was asked to deposit 5 lakhs for well being of child.

Now couple had married legally as per Indian Laws which doesnot prohibit marriage in same gothras but panchayat felt other wise and announce the decision.

Its high time our government does take notice about such bizzare decision which are against constitution of India.

Freedom has no meaning if ordinary citizen donot get faith on law. That feel that if something goes wrong with me , I would be given justice is important to feel pride , ownership in any system , state and nation.

Ruchika molestation case is perfect example about how a family can be left helpless and even ruined by powerful people. A girl molested and then harassed for 3 long years forcing her to die. A father forced to sell his house and left roof less. A brother who is framed in number of charges and his life spoiled. The mother’s condition can be understood. 4 lives are spoiled , have to undergo immense turnmoil , one commits suicide while other three are still suffering. The man behind all these get 6 months and 1000 Rs fine. Isnt it insult to ordinary lives?

It not just ruchika , It not just jessica lal or nitish katara. There three were ordinary citizens and assaulters were powerful people. Its their way of saying , we will kill you , ruin you because we own this country!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It takes helpless family whose cries are shown of television by media which creates outrage in people and then only justice is delivered?. Is this what type of system we want to establish?. Unless average citizen gets confidence in system and gets life of dignity he/she deserves in democracy , we are not free. Only faces of governance have changed.

May ruchika’s soul rest in peace and may justice finally be delivered to her.

The following in true story of a family friend , whose name has been changed to protect her identity. The reason of writing this post is to spread her story to maximum people so that more and more people get aware about this NRI Marriage Euphoria and necessary precautions are taken to have a safe marriage. The case goes as follows : Sulekha was down to earth , nice , educated girl belonging to middle class family. She had a financially struggling child hood and had started to work right from her college days. She has two elder sister and one younger brother.Her eldest sister had good job which had some what stabilized her family. Finally time for delivery came and she gave birth to girl child. The real shocker came now for sulekha. The purpose of digvijay to marry was just a child!!!!!!!!!. He wanted a child and nothing else. She was after one month of delivery sent back to India!!!!!!! Her life got shattered. Though with time she is trying to get back to life but its tough. Digvijay has filed divorce and she has signed too. A girl used a mere tool for getting child.. A sad story. Since she didnt take photo copy of passport , she didnt have any money and her blind trust in her husband made her slave of digvijay who used her only for birth of child. In our country , anything to do with NRI is considered to be great. NRI is symbol of well settled person who has got money , who can give better life to his wife and offsprings. So most of girl’s parents are excited to have son-in-law who is NRI. There is nothing wrong in girl parent’s desiring such alliance.
