Blame It On News Media!!!!!!!!

Yesterday was grand debate session in news channels. Grand because all had it . Topic was one of favorite topics , India -Pakistan talks. While Indian channels were angry over qureshi’s statement about s.m.krishna , there were many different options about why pakistan did what it did during talks , how press conference could have been handled in better way , what pakistan wants (according to individuals participating in debate). I am sure such debates might have taken place in pakistan news channels too. While experts differed in most part of debate , most agreed on one part. News media’s role. Most agreed that press conference did played very important part in creating negativity in India-Pakistan talks which were recently held. Banning The Book : Is it right way?

Image via Wikipedia Shivaji book is making headlines these days. Bharat Bandh : Never Makes Sense

Image via Wikipedia India is heading towards yet another bandh. Bharat bandh is scheduled on monday dated 5/7/2010. Reason is de controlling fuel prise by government which is directly going to effect lives of millions in India. The issue is of common man and so all opposition have stood up and bandh has been called by Left and NDA. What ever the issue , bandh has never made sense to me. It is good way to build pressure on government since bandh effects lives of people , brings loss to businesses , governments and paralyzes the system. It adds to people’s outrage and government feels the heat. But the people who are most effected are poorest ones. The people who have to go out and work to make sure they can have lunch or … Read entire article »

Proud To Be An Indian : It is people who matter

I remember when ahmedabad was hit by major earthquake and my building had got demolished by brutal force of nature.  All people living in my building were humbled by nature. Lives were lost , property was demolished. Help started pouring in from all quarters. People helped with time , even with money. Rich , poor , hindu , sikhs , muslims ,christians , jains , all contributed . Not just for us but for all effected in ahmedabad and in kutch. Another example of people’s generosity and humanity is example of gayatri devi. A freedom fighter fighting for her rights. As soon as CNN-IBN showed her plight , not just government but aam aadmi , NGOs and Big B stepped in to help her out. It was not charity but giving … Read entire article »
