I was (still am but not active) member of a community of social media . The community was India-Pakistan friendship club. It was wonderful initiative and has lot of members from both countries. It is one of best way to felicitate interaction between the two nations considering youths use social networking sites most.

I still remember when news had started flowing in about sri lankan team being attacked by terrorist in pakistan. I entered the community and gave my condolences. Pakistanis were furious and Indians were shocked. One such furious pakistani blamed RAW for the attack. I countered him stating my reasons and claimed that RAW is not fool to get involved in something which has to do with International Stars. I further suggested it can be lashkar ae toyba. The answer I got was more shocking for me. The furious man replied that if it is lashkar then it is ok. They can be handled since they are “apne log”.

These “apne log” syndrome is not new in sub continent. It has been there since thousands of years and this very “apne log” concept based on nationality , caste , religion , creed hinder justice in many cases.

Yesterday two teenager girls were killed in sopore. Killed by people who are being suspected to be militants. What we saw was outburst from chief minister , condolence from Sajjad Lone but what we didn’t see was no black flag , no gilani inspired peaceful march , no condemning by separatist , no speeches claiming that “our daughters ,sisters have been killed by terrorists”. No such statement from separatist leaders and no such statement from shyed ali shah geelani . Even mufti saeed didn’t say terrorist down down , we hate violence or any of such stuffs.

We can imagine what would have happened if security forces might have man handled some one in valley instead of this episode by terrorists. Valley would have been closed down by separatist. Slogans ,rallies ,speeches,call for united nations to act . All would have poured in. Arundhati Roy might have written another article about how Kashmir was never part of India and how Indian forces are using brutal force to curb human rights.

Agreed ,security forces are accountable . Agreed, they don’t have any right to shoot any innocent ever. Agreed , terrorist are not binded by law and neither are humans and we can’t expect animals to with held human rights of people. But is it non accountability of terrorist which makes separatist remain silent or is it “Apne Log” factor. Baaki sab sapne hote hain , apne to apne hote hain types?

There is problem with using violence to meet one’s end. Problem is once a person become habitual to use violence he/she would use it when ever he/she does not get his way. Lashkar ae toyba , Jaish , Harkat are not only enemies of India but they would also turn their guns against Pakistan and ordinary Kashmiris to get their way implemented ,if needed.

Yes none of Pakistan Establishment would agree to this but Taliban is for all to see.  If we view for India , well What prabhakaran did is well known.

Regarding terrorist , they forgot one golden , timeless rule -’If you live by sword , you die by it’.

I would like to offer my condolences to family of these two girls. May they have strength to recover from the shock which separatist’s apne log have given to them.
