In latest news of anna team , Veteran lawyer Shanti Bhushan has been found guilty by allahabad high court of evading stamp duty. He is said to have shown value of plot far less than 19 crores and thus evaded stamp duty of the same. The plot is located in civil lines which is one of posh areas of allahabad.
Shanti Bhushan is one of most important member of Team anna. He was infact the person who had brought first ever LOK PAL bill in parliament in 1968 when Indira Gandhi had her first rule as prime minister of India.
Shanti Bhushan had however claimed that the fine is incorrect and he would file writ petition in the high court challenging the fine…
Shanti Bhushan and Prashant Bhushan had earlier found their names in another controversy which is CD Controversy where Amar singh claimed bhushans were discussing fixing judges!!!!!!!
Earlier another important member of team anna , kiran bedi landed in controversy when she used to charge business class and travel by domestic , thus saving money which she claims to be using for her NGO. Argument which many didnt buy.
While Arvind Kejriwal was slammed fine of 9 lakh because of breaking of bond. Unlike bhushans and Kiran Bedi , most viewed arvind’s case as attempt by government to harass him.
But what now?. Would team anna whose four members have landed in controversy would be able to gather same amount of support from people?. If we go by mumbai’s anshan , the movement is soon dying .
I am not happy with movement dying because it was only hope in recent times. The cancer of corruption which had spread in every department and touches lives of every India , needed a credible public movement with credible face to kill this cancer.
Anna Hazare provided the face and needed thrust . He seemed to be finally the answer but with allegations of its members emerging (though with political reasons in some cases), with movement taking political shapes, with anna’s health , the movement seems to be heading towards slow death.
Though none , not even biggest critics of Anna Hazare can take away credit from Anna for taking issue of corruption to center stage and literally forcing government to bring lok pal bill frozen for ever back to life , in practical terms the movement seems to serve less of the purpose.
What the movement has done is alerting politicians to change the way they play their game. They have got that no more they can take aam aadmis for granted but at core they are still the same and they would reinvent their ways to suit their purpose. Yes all politicians are not corrupt but culture of corruption is very much induced in our political system.
As Anna recovers in hospital , he would have many thoughts going on his mind and latest would be shanti bhushan stamp duty case. Would Anna movement die down or would it reinvest itself?…Only time can answer that.

Referring to some media reports linking his uncle, who was killed in a road accident five years ago, with RSS, he asked what his relatives had to do with the anti-corruption movement. “There are some reports saying that my paternal uncle in his childhood used to go to RSS shakhas. What is wrong in that? What has he to do with our movement,” he said.
