Nirupama Pathak : Deadly Love Story

Nirupama Pathak was like most of people of young India. Born in small town , amibitious girl who wanted to enter the big scene of India , bright student who got into prestigious institute called Indian Institute of Mass Communication.

Promising career as journalist with heart that loved came to end at tender age of 22. 22 is not age to die , 22 is age when everything seems possible , 22 is age when one is ready to take on system , 22 is age when one dreams but for nirupama pathak , unfortunately 22 turned out to be age when she died or when she was allegbly killed.

Her mother is being accused of killing her and she has been arrested. While investigations are on , primafacie it looks like case of honor killing.

Nirupama did fall in love. Love is one of most powerful emotions which can make life beautiful but for nirupama , love made her life difficult. She did fall in love with person who was not of her caste. She was brahmin and boy was not brahmin.

Her family turned hurdle for her. Her dad advised her not to marry this boy who does not follow sanatan dharm. She was pregnant . She wanted to marry this boy and spend life with him . That was her right. Right given by constitution. Right to choose life partner as adult.

But as it happens in most cases , caste was too big an issue. Caste which does exist since thousands of years won in the end and followers of so called dharm went to extent of killing their own daughter for sake of avoiding marriage with another caste boy!!!!!!!!!

Nirupama is gone but left many questions for society. What kind of honour is there is getting your own daughter killed?. What kind of dharm is that which doesnot allow people to love and live as per one’s desire?.

For nirupama , life played a real bad joke where she got killed by her loved ones who wanted her to stop from being with person she loved. Tragic and deadly love story.

Latest Twist :

In twist to the case , nirupama’s boy friend has been charged for rape and abetment to suicide. This is after nirupama’s family approached court to file case against him. Court directed police to charge Priyabhanshu for cheating , rape and abetment to suicide.
