Preity Zinta said above things on media which created issue on her birthday. Since private news channels have come in the scenario ,trps and competition have lowered the quality in many cases. Though media has done fabulous job but at times their coverage is misleading.

Talking of another celebrity we all read news titled ‘Big B Slams slumdog millionare’. I felt sorry for big b because i am follower of his blog and i never read anything which can be said to be slamming of slumdog. Big B justed copy,pasted two opposite opinions of his fans in his blog and invited debate. But media is their zeal to be sabse tej and breaking news published article as Big B’s views.

Arun Jaitley in special program took interview of karan thapar. (arun jaitley was taking interview and karan was on hot seat). In that interivew arun brought this point of deteriorating quality of media to which karan admitted media being run by commercial bodies so they tend to sensationalize news and often in zeal of me first publishing/showing news which are half baked.

Media came under strong criticism in coverage of 26/11 NSG operation too. Terrorist were in touch with their people in pakistan . Now if you are covering live operation you are risking NSG’S life. But for media that didnt matter.

Few months ago when i went for lunch a hindi news channel had a exclusive program. It began something like this -

‘Yeh suraj ko kha jaayega , yeh duniya ko nigal jaayega’. That program was on black hole and according to experts it was too far to do any harm to our universe.

Hindi channels are well knows for programs on bhoot,pret and all.

But it not just about media , its about people also. During Media summit an editor had said that daily he goes through conflict through his self for what people should view and what people want to view.

Rakhi sawant becomes larger news than passing of some bill which effects our lives. So media has to show what people want to see.

As karan thapar said media shows entertainment because people want to see it and by showing entertainment we show important news side by side, which people should actually view.
