Can Pakistan Re Invent Itself?

Home Minister Of India today asked Pakistan to reinvent itself and become true democracy with power in hands of elected member.

Now his words would surely fell in dead years . Not because what he says is incorrect but because of major trust deficit among India and Pakistan.

Also would the problem which Pakistan is facing right now and problem which India faces due to Pakistan , get solved by mere democratic set up.

Pakistan has reinvented itself twice since independence. First time it reinvented soon after death of jinnah and second time during rule or misrule of General Muhammad Zia-ul-Haq.

Ironically Jinnah who parted ways with united India in name of land for Muslims of south asia had vision of secular Pakistan!!!!!!!!. Now either he misunderstood his own actions or misunderstood people who assisted him in making of Pakistan. Jinnah speech after independence in which he talks about separating religion and governance is famous.

Soon after his death , Pakistan slowly forgot his vision but actually conversion of Pakistan into a intolerant state began in haq’s era. Pakistan largely being tolerant country saw implementation of what haq called Islamic System.

Pakistani Experts believe that haq has harmed Pakistan most. In article called manipulating history , a Pakistani expert had written about how text books were manipulated to serve political purpose.

What we see as extreme mindset of jihadis in Pakistan was not actual pakistan . Pakistanis are friendly people , great host and very talented lot. If one interacts with them , one finds them to be affable and not like what we see in media on daily basis.

Coming back to re inventing itself. For any person, firm or country. Re invention has three steps majorly. First there should be realization of need of reinvention. Second is reinvent to what?. That is what is goal and destination and lastly comes the process of reinvention.

Does majority in Pakistan sees their country as victim or as being problem to India. RAW , MOSSAD, CIA are blamed for current situation in Pakistan. Politicians are blamed too but largely , very few see extremism as main problem which according to many Pakistani experts is number one problem.

Chidambaram naturally talked from Indian’s perceptive and his definition of reinvention won’t do much good to India.

It is for people of Pakistan to see , analyze and decide about what they think is best for their country.
