Book Review : The Monk Who Sold His Ferrari

Some books make you laugh , some books make you think , some books make you cry , some books may you happy but few books make an impact that changes how one lives his/her life. The Monk Who Sold His Ferrari is one such book.

Robin Sharma’s monk who sold his Ferrari is must have , must read book for all those who love to read, who want to enhance their quality of life and are interested in life altering book.

The book is based on fictious lawyer’s journey from being in ruthless quest of winning everything to being alive. The book starts with a powerful , highly successful lawyer fainting in the court room. He has an heart attack. The lawyers known for his ability ,brilliance, winning instinct gets a wake up call from life in middle of court room.

Advised by doctor to drastically change the way he lives his life , lawyers sells everything he has including his Ferrari and moves to India seeking deeper meaning of life.

Julian comes across another person who has had been himself an lawyer but like Julian he too has left his past life behind. This lawyer  mentions among sivana sage living somewhere on mountain. With quest of finding them and learning from them Julian climbs the mountain and  there he comes across sages of sivana. The sages through fable gives Julian priceless , timeless gems on life with request that julian takes it back to the west.3 years later julian meets his junior John and what follows is one gem after another getting unfolded.

Written as interesting tale , monk who sold its Ferrari is one of best works to have been published.  Timeless virtue when nurtured , worked upon and catered can drastically alter one’s experience of life. This book is meant for today’s highly tense , stressed and competitive world.

The book has been written more as conversation between two people rather than being preachy and bhashan types. It is interesting read which makes reader glued to the book without ever feeling bored. The message is deep but explained in language which can easily be understood and using fable to explain makes this book easy to chew.

According to me this is must have book in one’s person library.
