Anna V/s Government Round 3 : Jail Bharo Andholan Seems Reality Now

So now it seems to be final. Anna Hazare is again going on fast from december 27th for strong lok pal bill. After lots of speculation of would he , wont he , finally anna hazare declared his plan.

Being disappointed with Lok Pal bill which government has proposed , Anna reacted angrily with call of jail bharao from 1st jan.

Battle lines are drawn , bighul baj chuka hai…Anna is adamant on fast and government has time and again shown its lack of willingness to bring strong lok pal bill…Anna’s movement started from march and this is December 20th . Lokpal bill which is pending since last 40 years seem to finally see being passed as law but but but it is bill which seems to be symbolic considering not giving lok pal investigative arm…

Government on other hand claims that draft proposed is best possible bill and politicians claim that if LOK PAL is made too powerful , it would become most corrupted body in the country.

Is Anna Fast Justified?

When government is bringing the bill and when it is ready to have prime minister answerable to lok pal with riders , have citizen charter and judicial accountability bill , is anna justified to go on another fast?

Well for LOK PAL to function properly it needs investigation arm. Without it what would it do. Government says that CBI would be answerable to LOK PAL in cases where LOK PAL receives complain but same CBI comes under government too.

Now imagine a situation like 2G Scam. If LOK PAL existed at that time in current proposed way , what would have happened?. Lok Pal would have received complain and would have asked CBI which comes under Chidambaram to conduct inquiry for 2G Scam. Does it make sense that body coming under party of scrutiny inquiring against it?. How unbiased would that be?

Idea of having LOK PAL is not having another body like cvc or even cag which can do nothing much than making reports and tabling it. Why do we then need lok pal at first place?. Whole idea of having lok pal is to have independent body .

Yes I am fine with that body being made accountable and idea of 100 mps complaining against lok pal works for me. We cant have extremely powerful body who is accountable to none.

So as far as some clauses of proposed LOK PAL BILL is concerned yes Anna Is justified to go on fast…

Would Another Fast Succeed?

It is true that by running anti congress campaign in haryana , anna team added political shades to its campaign and naturally people who are supportive of congress would keep out of anna team now but at same time it is also true that people dont trust government for bringing strong lok pal bill. Scam hit upa-2′s credibility is all time low .

According to me it is high time that we give due to all those people who lost their lives or sacrificed their career to earn India , its freedom. Their dream is still to be realized and the biggest obstacle in front of their dream is corruption.

It doesnot matter whether we grow by 9% 0r 100% as long as aam aadmi doesnot get benefitted from it , has to give chai pani in every interaction , he/she has with government ..

Corruption needs to be fought till we have least possibility of it occuring and LOK PAL is one of most important steps for that. Let us take a stand for better future of every one who lives here and hopes for better life…Jai Hind

United Progessive Alliance , the alliance more known for progress made by politicians and corruption is now is news for one of its most ambitious bills.

Under fire from all quarters and dealing with phenomena called anna hazare , UPA and congress are on verge of tabling FOOD SECURITY BILL .

The bill would aka as right to food would positively effect 50% of urban area and 75% of rural area. The ambitious bill would incure 95000 crores to goverment but many experts believe the bill would cost 2 lakh crores. If we consider 2G Loss, in one sentence we can say that if 2G loss wont have happened , we could have got food security bill implemented at nominal 25000 crore by diverting Raja’s 1,75,000 crores of 2G Gain , which got lost any ways…

Coming back to point , bill would ensure priority family get 7 kg of rice , 7 kg of wheat at Rs 3 and Rs 2  per person respectively while person under general households shall get 3 kg of rice and wheat at 50 per cent of the minimum support price.

Now what does priority family mean?. Well state government would have to identify the priority families within six months of implementation of the bill.

Sharad Pawar , agriculture minister of India had questioned the sustainability of the bill. The bill seems to be right in intent but is it sustainable? . Secondly how do keep black marketers away?. How to implement the bill in letter and spirit?…What would be the cost of identifying priority families?. Who would bear that cost?. What if state refuses to implement the bill?…

Interestingly Law Minister said that hunger is bigger priority than corruption. He may be right on periphery but to eradicate hunger the biggest enemy government would have is corruption..

Ironically the Strong Lok Pal bill which congress has been resisting since long and needed anna hazare to take center stage to bring the bill , the same bill would ensure that Sonia Gandhi’s dream bill (food security bill) reaches its goal.

Government brought NREGA which too is one of most ambitious bills which any government of the world has passed. The NREGA too has had allegations of corruption in it.

Government brought scheme for to be mothers and we had scams under which money was eaten up in name of pregnant women!!!!!!!.

Bill is first step , second and most important step is implementation. FOOD SECURITY BILL has heart in right place but we would require all the integrity and practical sense to make most of it for welfare of Indians.

Mr Manish Tewari : Kindly Elaborate Whose Legacy You Are Talking About?

Congratulations to all Indians…Why?..Well parliament is finally discussing black money. Opposition Party BJP ‘s Senior BJP leader LK Advani moved an adjournment motion on the black money issue in the Lok Sabha on Wednesday .

Advani started the debate and as expected went hard on black money issue. He also wants Pranab Mukherjee to reveal names of people who have black money in foreign banks. Now it is too much to ask for, current politicians naming people with black money would be like wikileaks naming its sources!!!!!!

After advani it was turn of ruling congress to debate and surprisingly the man who stood to debate was none other than manish tewari who indirectly helped anna movement during its early days by accusing anna himself!!!!!!!!!

Never the less Manish for a change did make some arguments which are worth considering. For e.g. he said black money is not just in foreign banks but also in India. He is right in that. Real estate industry itself is said to be generating 1 lakh crore of black money every year!!!!!!!!!!… Again real estate industry is great parking place for black money which is un hindered till date.

Manish mentioned some weird point too. He said that Black money issue is not new. He is right in that , but at same time he said congress cannot be blamed for that since it is on going legacy. Hmmm…Interesting , isnt it?

So whose legacy is it?. Indira gandhi or nehru or rajiv gandhi or narishma rao or atal bihari or dr singh?. He didnt mention that but does he need to?. Considering how black money has been allowed to continue , it is safe to say that every government allowed it but who started it ?.

Indira era had tax which was at level of 97%. Just imagine you working hard day in day out and for every 100 Rs you make , you give 97 Rs to government!!!!!!!!!!!. Now this can be said as one of chief causes of black money circulation during those days. So wrong policy might be one of chief reasons which started this and if congress is not to be blamed , who else takes the blame?

Congress has some funny arguments to make . When it comes to India building , they are first to claim credit for it and they are not totally wrong in that since they ruled for most years , credit goes to them the most but in same lines , if some thing like black money exist that too in lines of 1 trillion crores (Manish tewari figure) , who takes blame the most?. Obviously congress…Credit and Blame are two sides of coin.One can get applaud for governing for most years and shy away from taking responsibility of what went wrong …

Black money is huge huge problem and both advani and tewari are right on what they said today but do political parties want black money back?..Not just in foreign banks but also those which get generated in our own land and are stacked in our own country?. I doubt that but would remain optimistic since people have awakened now and people power is supreme..Isnt it?

Parliament Attack : Do We Value Our Martyrs?

Ten years is long long time. World changes in 10 years time. Even if we look at individual lives , ten years seems like sea change from what one used to be. Career , money , position alter in ten years.

If we look at last ten years in the world. USA was attacked in 2001 and world changed for ever. The chief accused in the usa 2001 attack was bin laden who was killed and buried in the sea early this year.

Coming to our parliament attack , the chief accused Afzal guru is still alive ,waiting for president to decide on his fate. He was been sentenced to be hanged till death and he has filed mercy petition against the verdict.

Afzal still has chance of not being hanged till present party in center remains in power but five police men, one security guard of parliament and one gardener were not that fortunate. Terrorist showed no mercy on them and they got killed protecting the highest symbol of our democracy that is parliament.

The master mind of that attack ironically applies to highest post of democratic India for mercy!!!!!!!…Height of irony.

As ten years have passed, martyr’s family boycotted the function where The Members of Parliament and security personnel held a tribute for the nine martyrs who lost their lives in the 2001 Parliament attack. However, the families of most of the martyrs skipped the event upset over the delay in the hanging of convict Afzal Guru.

The question which comes to my mind if that ‘do we value our martyrs?’ . Do politicians have time to thing beyond vote bank politics and give justice to us and martyr families?

It is unfortunate that those who laid down their lives to protect our pride , our values , our democratic symbol , their attacker’s master is still alive…

Tragic…isn’t it?.

Viru , Nawab , Multan Ka Sultan….Virender Sehwag is known by many names but for most bowlers world wide , the name symbolizes only one thing and that is DEMOLISHER…

Virender Sehwag has some unique record to his name. Two triple hundred in test matches puts him on same stage as that of Sir Don Bradman, Brian Lara and Chris Gayles.

Virender Sehwag also has record of fastest three hundred in test matches. Three hundred in 278 odd balls…With five more years approximately to go , sehwag can become only batsman to have score three triple hundreds too…

Coming to one days the demolisher sehwag made it into another unique league and that is of becoming only second player to have hit 200 in the onedays…

With advent of T-20 it was expected that some one , some day would reach to 200 in onedays and who could have been better than Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar to do so and it is fitting that sachin’s record was broken by none other than Virender Sehwag who in his own words idolizes sachin…

Ironically when shewag had entered test arena , he was not considered to be good enough for test. Critics said he lacks foot work and does little movement of feet. He was also considered to lack temperament needed for test.

Sourav Ganguly , then Indian captain spotted the talent and offered him to open in test matches instead of sitting out because of over crowded middle order of India. As said rest is history. While most play by rule book , shewag wrote the book…. His brutal assault on bowlers made 100 in one session of test gettable. If shewag stayed for entire day 400 score in a day looked possible. Proving all critics wrong , shewag not just survived test but even changed the way test matches where played…

Virender Shewag’s cricket is simple. Hit the ball when you think you can hit. Bowler doesnot matter, ball doesnot matter, match situation doesnot matter, field placing doesnot matter. What matters is belief that the ball is there to be hit. Simple but brutal …

Yesterday what all cricket fans saw/heard/listened doesnot happen every other day. Yesterday was special for cricket. Can any one break shewag’s 219 record. Well yes and that person might well be shewag himself!!!!!!!!!!

What makes shewag equally exciting is his fearlessness. The man seems to know no fear. Whether he is on 96 or 196 or 296 , shewag would go for six without fearing of loosing weak. If FULL BLOWN SELF EXPRESSION is something which we carve for , shewag is manifestation of the same on cricket ground.

Sehwag is not perfect like rahul dravid as far as technique goes , neither he is elegant as v v s , nor he is sachin tendulkar . But this man doesnot need to be like any one else because there is only one virender sehwag in the world…
